Susan's Showcase for Challenge #7 (Bride of May - Wedding)

Good morning everyone!!! Today I am sharing my project from Challenge #7 - Bride of May (Wedding).

Here is my card:







I used Aurora Floral Kiss for this card which you can find at The East Wind Etsy Shop. I love Aurora and I thought this was the perfect image for a Wedding type card. I colored her with my Copic markers and I did some decoupage on her. I popped the hair on one side and really did some detailed decoupage on the flowers on her head. I love how it turned out. I added the lace at the top of the card, the swirls and different flowers on the side and the small pearls near the stamped sentiments. I can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with!!!

At The East Wind, we have 2 challenges/contests running most of the time, this means two chances to win fabulous images from Unky!

You are here on our Blog so you will hopefully be aware that we have a Challenge starting on the 1st and 15th of every month here on the blog. The current challenge is #7 Bride of May and we want to see your Wedding themed projects!

For this I have used an alternative bride! Cos us alternative chicks want to look pretty on our wedding day too! hahaha Lucy Loo 'Blow the Skull Kiss' is the image I've used, colouring her up in Ivory and pale skin tones.

The papers I have used are from British company, Craftwork Cards and are from their 'Tea Dance' collection with soft creams and pinks to compliment the Ivory dress. I've made a bow with the same papers and the sentiment is also from Craftwork Cards. The layers are built up with some white pearlescent paper too and an X-Cut border punch creates a lace effect on one of the mats.


Now, the Challenge Blog will likely be all frilly and pretty and girly and we love that! But, I'm also a fan of the darker side of crafting and love a bit of Halloween! So, for those of you who like that too - we have a fabulous Facebook Contest going till the 17th of June with the theme 'Something Out of the Norm'!

I have used a Witchy image and coloured it with pencils, rather than my 'normal' Promarkers! I've layered her up with papers from Echo Park's Apothecary Emporium pad and lots of black pearlescent papers. I've finished it off with a Tim Holtz 'Scaredy Cat' die cut and Cheery Lynn spiderweb corner die.

As you can see, a very different card to what you would 'normally' see over at The East Wind. Now, you dont have to make a card, our other DT members have created tags and altered notebooks, you can go dark and creepy or just make something out of your own 'norm', out of your comfort zone - if it's not clear, let us know what makes it out of the norm for you!

Bettina's showcase for challenge # 7 The Bride of may

Bettina here and  seems like I am the first to go showcasing our new and fabolous Bride of May challenge. I made a WOW heart shaped wedding card for this one and in easel design. Here goes:

I used my new Marianne design heart shaped dies to make the heart shape and folded and added an additional heart on the top. I've used shabby pink frantage around the shapes. Lucy Loo Mystiosis is coloured with my promarkers. There is still time to join in on our challenge over here.
