Susan's Challenge #13 Showcase

Good morning! Today I get to show you the details of my card from Challenge #13 - For The Kiddies.

The image is Baby Aurora Angel which you can find at The East Wind Shop. I colored her up with my Copic markers. I did a little bit of decoupage.. her front arm and bear and then a little bit of her hair. The papers are from a REALLY old pack of Basic Grey papers. I embossed around the edge of the image, added the dew drops and buttons and different fibers on the tag. There is nothing on the tag. I used a My Favorite Things die cut to cut the mini scalloped edge on the green and white paper. The stamps are from Paper Smooches. On the inside I used the same papers layered and I used the negative cut from that die on the green and white paper. She looks so peaceful snuggled up with her Teddy Bear :)

COPIC MARKERS:
  • Pink on Outfit and Pillow Ruffle: RV00, RV10, RV11, RV13
  • Red Hearts and Big Heart and Bears Paws: R14, R36, R46, R59
  • Bear: E23, E25, E27, E29
  • Pink  Bear Cheeks: R20
  • Skin: E000, E00, E01, YR20
  • Yellow: Y13, Y15, Y18
  • Black Nose: C5, C7
  • Hair: Y21, Y23, YR21, Y38, E97, E99

Donna Showcasing Lucy Loo 'Crown'

Hi guys, it's Donna today showcasing the a gorgeous new image at The East Wind today.  Here is Lucy Loo 'crown'.  Besides being totally fabulous in her own right, in addition to the normal jpg, png, no back ground png and light lines for no lines coloring, this digi also comes with a BLACK background.  I'm all over that!  How dramatic, and no fussy cutting, eh?  Well, while in my Printmaster Pro program I also did a bit of playing with other colors, turning the entire digi royal blue, teal, and deep red.  Here's the result. How cool is that?
To start, I decided on the deep red background.  Thought it would be fun to do something totally monochromatic.  So here's my coloring.  Believe it or not, I only used TWO colors of Copics.  TWO!  That's it!
E04 and R000 that's all it took, and here's the finished card.  Awesome, eh?  Imagine the possibilities.  Unfortunately, because of my trip, I was unable to  color more before I went, but I plan to make a whole set of these as well as coloring her up brightly using the fab black background.  Love this new option for this image, don't you?

My DT sisters have their own renditions of Lucy Loo 'crown' that you can see on The East Wind FB page as well as The East Wind Group page where a new FB contest started while I was gone and the theme is AAARgh...Pirates. And stay tuned for our next Blog Challenge which starts Sept 1.

Lucy Loo over the rainbow - Crafting Vicky

Hello everyone!  I'm here this time around to share with you a card that I made for the latest challenge on FB for The East Wind.  And this time our challenge for you is Pirate!!!

So I thought and thought about this... and I finally decided to use the great Lucy Loo over the rainbow .  She reminded me of Albator... yeah... I'm telling my age... he was a spaceship captain :)
http://blogs.lexpress.fr/agnam/wp-content/blogs.dir/953/files/2013/02/albator.jpg

So.... that's my take with this fabulous image.
I went steampunk for sure!!!  I used some Recollections - Steampunk botanica paper.  The glittery paper is DCWV - Glitter cardstock.  I used some letters from my stash... sorry don't remember the brand.  I also used my cc design skull & bones and my Cheery Lynn- B340 Gears.

Here's a closer look at the digi colored with my copics.
Hope you have enjoyed my inspiration for you!   Can't wait to see what you do for this FB challenge!  Don't forget to think outside the box!!!

Have a great crafting day!!!

Hugs

Yo ho ho A Pirate's Life for Me!

Hi TEW Fans! It's Maureen here! I've been off the grid for a bit in terms of The East Wind and new releases and have really missed it here. I recently had surgery on my right hand - the good one - and I'm just getting back into colouring and creating. So this is my first proper creation for The East Wind since I had my operation and I am using the Lucy Loo Pirate image that Kyra coloured for you in yesterday's ShowRoom Post!
I have coloured her using Promarkers and it's not my best work but my hand is still getting sore with too much work! I have used paper from my stash and some black organza ribbon and black sticky pearls. While I was recuperating I treated myself to a Silhouette Cameo machine and decided to find some Pirate themed cutting files! So the black frame, the sentiment and the other die cuts have all come from the Cameo.

I hope you like my card. This is inspiration for the brand new Facebook Contest over at The East Wind Facebook Group - you should come and join us for more inspiration and prizes!
Thanks!

ARRGH....PIRATES!

Today, I would like to share this video of drawing for this banner

Some of you might be wonder WHY am I using copic + colour pencils normally.
well, I am so used to pencil, main reason was actually I could not afford too much Copic markers which is half price back home ( South Korea ). However, I do like Copic+colour pencil combination for few reasons, and I will probably buy the whole sets if I ever go back to Korea for visit. well for now, I will use different markers as well.

You will see, in some of the following videos, I will be running out of ink. lol

Anyways, Just I thought it would be fun to share, cause It's kind of fun watching myself look like drawing super fast! Unlikely!

Okay Ladies! Please Join our "Arrgh...Pirates!" Contest over at FB group

Okay, Until next Wed.

Aurora ' Love You'

This week, I decided to colour Aurora 'Love you'  again,
If you wanted to see my first one HERE

I did few things different this time.
Paper / GreyLine / Size

I reduced the line and printed on a beige card stock which was not the best to add marker ink on. However, I had to try, right? ^^ the reason why I choose coloured paper, I wanted to see how much it helps for base tone. I think it does a bit, but markers bleed a bit.

So I made a SUPER FAST VERSION for this week's video. You are  welcome to comment on the video, on the blog post or TEW Facebook Group for any questions, I will read all of it, I will cover it with explanation on next week's video.

.
I am a bit nervous about the speaking part. Since My English is only second language, I might have to put a subtitle..... Heheehee

SUPER FAST VERSION ^^

Dress Up play release showcase

A little card designed with currogated cardboard from me, Bettina, today. I've used gesso paint and added shabby blue embossing enamel for the background paper. Behind my gorgeous little ice princess I've used some stashed away diecuts and added stormy sky and vintage photo distress inks on the edges.

The image is called Dress Up Play and is the newly released image from The East Wind. I've coloured her with my beloved promarkers.

Our newest challenge "For the kiddies" is still up and running until august 25. You can play along here.

Donna Showcasing Lucy Loo 'Cat on the Head'

Hey there, Donna here, showcasing the newest stamp from The East Wind called Lucy Loo 'Cat on the Head'.  Gotta say, she cracks me up so I thought she'd be a great reminder of the "Just for a Laugh" FB Contest going on through August 17th.  Since it was all about the hair, I used bobby pin DP from the DCWV All About Girls mat stack and framed her with my Spellbinders Labels Twenty Eight.  My BFF Lisa helped me come up with the sentiment and I couldn't resist adding a mousey border done with my MS punch.

Lucy Loo was so much fun to color with my Copics and I just can't stop giggling about that cat on her head. You can always count on Lucy Loo to inspire a  humorous sentiment with that attitude of hers (or in this case, should I say "cattitude"?  LOL).  Come join our contest FB and make us laugh.

Susan's Challenge #12 Showcase

Good morning everyone :) Kyra has done it again! An amazing freebie image! Aurora is ready for the beach and she is just beautiful! We are on Challenge #12 Freebie Challenge with a theme of Beach at The East Wind. Aurora Bubble Gum and Mint Chocolate... isn't she great! I love her!  Here was my take on this challenge:

I colored her with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. I did a small amount of decoupage; her hat rim and her ice cream cone. The papers I used are from Club Scrap... I LOVE their papers. I really need to start that again! I miss getting my pizza box! I added the corners (Spellbinders) which I cut with black cardstock. The butterflies (Spellbinders) I cut the background with the black cardstock and then I used the other papers for the top. I also added pearls to the middle of each of those butterflies. I added two different ribbons, two of the same, that I tied around the middle strip. I added gems to the bottom half of the scalloped edged papers. I also added inking on the edges of the image and stitching around the image. On the inside I stitched around three sides of the cardstock and added some silver puff paints on the scalloped edge. I also added the small black butterflies with the pearls on them as well.   I stamped Birthday Greetings. And I believe that is it. She is just wonderful! I love her! Thank you Kyra for another fantastic freebie!!!

Darker Themed Lucy Loo!

Morning folks, I have a sore hand so this will be short and sweet! I recently had Carpal Tunnel Decompression surgery and trying to get back to normal. I'm sure I'll have more to show you next month!
I am on the Design Team over at PunkyouGirl dark themed challenges and this month The East Wind are our sponsor! I was delighted to create a darker project using Lucy Loo Pearl Necklace with Skull and coloured her with Promarkers. I have used papers from Graphic 45 Steampunk Spells collection and lots of black pearlescent paper for layering. I have used a Tim Holtz Weathered Clock die cut and a floral oval from Spellbinders, a sentiment from Ginger's House complete's the card.

I hope you like this! I'd love to see you have a go at a darker project with some of the images from The East Wind!
See you next time!

My First Showroom Post

Hello The East Wingers.... Please be gentle with me as this is my first showroom post.

I have been missing in action for a while due to poor health. During this time there have been new images released that I have coloured, however didn't have the time to make anything with them.
I thought I would dedicate this post to one those cards that I never got around to make and show at the time.

This was coloured with my Faber-Castel Colouring Pencils. I wanted to make the hair etc different to the norm. All the backing elements were cut on my Silhouette and the cauldron was glittered with black sparkle medium.
I think this is a really unusal card, but I do like it.....I hope you do too.

Much Love
Lisa xxxx
