Showcase with Susan for Challenge #11

Good morning everyone! Today is my Showcase day for The East Wind. Our theme this time around is It's Getting HOT! Now, you might think summer, sun, beach when you think hot, but I took it in another twist LOL  Hot as in Sexy Hot... with the lovely Lucy Loo Sexy Girl with Her Own Style. I love her!! I did my usual color at least three images LOL but I didn't decoupage her, instead I made three separate cards. Here they are:

They are the same design, just a different sentiment on each one. The sentiments are from Create With TLC. I knew right away I wanted to use purple with her and that I wanted there to be purple in her hair LOL So I went with the Black and purple theme. The skull corner was cut out with my Cameo and I covered the top with the purple glitter. I added the gems and pearls on the side of her.. black pearls and purple gems. I added the twine between Lucy Loo and the sentiment and I added the three black buttons on the side. The edge has a strip of black lace that hangs off the edge. I thought it gave it a nice touch. I colored these images with my Copic markers.

Copic:
  • Purple in Hair, Outfit and Eyes: V12, V15, V17
  • Black in Outfit, Hair and Shoes: C3, C5, C7, C9

It is about time, right? - Unky's coloring tutorial #1

I have been talking about Tutorial for so long now, I finally took an action!
Last Wednesday I lauched the first video of how to do Lucy Loo Close up hazel eyes,
I know it is quiet fast, I personally can't watch a video that are over 2 min long. so I figure I had to make it this way, I put a little notes on the screen what colour and product I used, so I hope that helps.

I look at colouring as 'understanding lights' If you do, you will find colouring or drawing so much easier. Understand it and play with it. ^^

So It will be Every Wed, I will come up with new videos! Long Journee of Unky's Colouring Therapy has started last week! ^^
Hope you enjoy the videos.
If you Like these videos, Please subscribe! and share! ^^

I am starting up a small contest with special deal relate to this tutorial, please join our facebook group.

Maureen's July Fun with The East Wind

Hi everybody!!! It's Maureen here with some of my makes for July using the fabulous images at The East Wind Etsy Shop! I hope you like what you see!

This first card is for the current Challenge #11 at The East Wind. The theme is It's Getting Hot in Here and I've used Ashley 3, coloured her with my Promarkers and used Beach Babe papers from Fancy Pants. I've used some dies and created a flowery theme too.
This next card was made for my Design Team inspiration at Crafting by Designs - the theme there was 'Use a Sentiment' so I found a fabulous one over at Gingers House and teamed it up with Lucy Loo 'Heart Lips'. Again, I've used my Promarkers teamed with some Peacock Feathers Distress Ink and papers from Craftwork Cards.
We've had a few new Lucy Loo releases last week and you probably know by now I love Lucy!!! hahaha So I've created a Wall Hanging with Lucy Loo Hocus Pocus using Graphic 45 Steampunk Spells papers and flowers from my stash.
I've also used 'Professor Loo' in a slightly CAS card with another sentiment from Gingers House.

nd finally, we have a brand new Facebook Contest that you should hop over and have a look at! The theme is 'Just for a Laugh' and I have used Lucy Loo with a Mustache for mine with a funny pun!
I hope you've enjoyed looking at these projects - there were more in July, but I'll save them for another day! You can see all my projects for The East Wind here!

Thanks for looking!

Bettina's It's getting hot challenge project

It's monday and time for another showroom showcase from me, Bettina, today. I've decided to show you my recent challenge project as we still have a new challenge going on at the challenge blog.

For my It's getting hot project I've decided to use additional butterflies (joy diecut) and one from Prima to add to the Aurora Spring Butterfly image I've used for this one. I think it kinda gives a summer effect. I went with lots of purple as that is one of my favourite colours for summer as well!!

a little closer for more details

I've used additional flowers and added lace and doily for some elegance.

There is still time to play along with our current It's getting hot challenge over here

Have an awsome monday!!

If You Can't Take the Heat ~ TEW Challenge #11

We have a new challenge which began July 15 and will continue until the 25th at The East Wind and the theme is It's Getting Hot! Now you can interpret "hot" in many ways and there can be lots of reasons for the heat to rise so it's really pretty wide open. I chose to work with this fun image called Lucy Loo Attitude. I coloured her with my Prismacolor pencils, fussy cut her, and popped her up on foam tape.

The background started with a white card base and a rectangle of black cardstock cut to leave a narrow border of the white showing. I used the Dylusions Diamond of a Border stencil and white gesso to create some background pattern. Golden Iridescent Copper paint was pounced through the TCW Tiny Circles stencil to create a little more texture and pattern.

Three colours of cardstock were cut into a flame design and overlapped for the border at the bottom. Lucy Loo was tucked in behind so that she looks like she is standing in the fire...and obviously can handle the heat. A wooden Prima pointing hand icon was colourized with Treasure Gold and adhered beside Lucy with Glossy Accents. The cuff was coloured in with a paint pen and a "button" was created with a flat pearl. I added the hand to represent someone getting ready to tickle Lucy Loo...not a good idea as you can tell by the look on her face.

The sentiment which I love was computer generated, and the bottom section was matted in black before both were popped up on foam tape. Orange enamel dots were added to the top right corner to complete the card.

Thanks for stopping by today. If you are looking for  more inspiration and wonderful interpretations of the theme It's Getting Hot, pop over to TheEastWind Challenge blog to see the awesome creations by my talented teamies. We would love to have you play along with our challenge.

Having a Little Siesta

It's Donna here, bringing you another example of a new digi format available when you purchase the latest digis at The East Wind.  Previously, the stamps came in jpg (solid) and png (totally transparent) format.  The newest stamps now also come with light lines for coloring with the "No Lines" technique as well as the png Transparent background, which allows you to print your image directly over digital paper or a photograph.  Here I've used the adorable new Aurora 'Siesta' which debuted this past Monday in The East Wind Shop.  She's printed over a digi paper all ready for coloring.  No fussy cutting required.

And here she is all colored up with Copics. Isn't that fun?  Although I've added some matting and cut out my computer generated sentiment, you can easily do a one layer card that is much easier to mail.

Here's another example using Lucy Loo 'It's Hot outside'.  Again I've used the png transparent background and a copyright free photo I found on the net (you can even use your own).  The possibilities are endless.  Each Monday and Friday a new stamp debuts in The East Wind Shop.  Be in the know by joining our FB group where we share our fabulous East Wind creations and LIKE The East Wind FB pageOur Wedded Bliss contest is still open through July 17th on FB and look for a new East Wind Blog Challenge July 15th (shhh...not telling.  LOL)  See ya there!

Challenge #10 Use a Ribbon... and More from Mo

Morning TEW fans! It's Maureen here, firstly apologising for not being here for a whole month! I think the children being off school has completely thrown me and my mojo into a muddle!

I have a couple of projects to share with you today - here's hoping my keyboard holds out.... one of said children spilled juice on it today and it playing up! Apologies for spelling errors! hahaha
Challenge #10 started on the first of July and its the freebie challenge - what a stunning image to receive as a freebie! I have used paper from Forever in Time, the Perfect Prints 'Dusk' paper pad. The black card is coredinations and has been embossed. I coloured her with Promarkers and added some iridescent Wink of Stella glitter to the folds of her dress and hair bow. The card is finished with a Craftwork Cards sentiment, black card candi and, of course, some red satin ribbon.
I used an image from The East Wind towards the end of June for a challenge at Crafting by Designs. The theme was 'Here comes the summer' and I felt that one of the Ashley images would be perfect!
I have coloured Ashley with Promarkers and edged the image and papers with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink. The papers are from the Fancy Pants Designs 'Beach Babe' paper pad. I have die cut the mount with an x-cut die. The flourish is Die-Namics and the rolled roses are Marianne Designs. The banner and sentiment were made by hand. I have finished with some pink card candi and lots of 'Star Dust' Stickles on the surf board corner design.

Thanks for looking!

Fierce

Hi Everyone, It's Bonnie here today to share a tag I created with the new The East Wind release from Monday called Michelle the Nutshell. This was one of the winning photos from the portrait game that Kyra then drew and released as a digi. We all loved the photo and the image is a delight to colour and create with.

I coloured Michelle with Prismacolor pencils, adding a little detail with silver gel pen and a green half pearl for her earring. Michelle was then matted in black partially to add strength to the image because I knew her head would require several layers of foam tape in order to match the level of the metal.

The background started as a black #8 tag (3 x 6.25 inches). I applied Perfect Medium through a Dylusions harlequin stencil and then dusted the gluey spots with Interference Green Perfect Pearls. It has a gorgeous shimmer in real life and yet remains subtle. The metal sheet which is black on one side and silver on the other is from Add a Little Dazzle. It's fabulous stuff...embosses and cuts like butter, can be torn, rolled, so many possibilities. I embossed it with my favourite Tim Holtz folder, Riveted Metal. I then cut it down the center about half way and rolled the two halves back towards the edge like it was opening up. Before I adhered it to the background, I applied Black and Rust Alcohol inks and blending solution to age and grunge it up.

On the image, Michelle has a buckle at her neck so to repeat that I threaded a dotty ribbon through an Idea-ology buckle and wrapped the ribbon around the tag, using the same ribbon for the topper. As soon as I saw the photo and then Kyra's image, the word Fierce popped into my head as in a fierce competitor, fierce friend, and "don't mess with me" kind of fierce. I love the attitude I am imagining. The gold metal beads spell out Fierce and repeat the metal from the lower part of the tag. The last element is the heart with wings. It started out brushed gold but I added a little Treasure Silver wax to highlight the detail and tie it in with the other metals. I chose the heart because to me it represents both freedom to be an individual and speed from her roller skates.

Thanks for visiting today. We have a couple of challenges going on right now ~ our Facebook challenge theme is Wedded Bliss and our blog challenge theme is Ribbon. We'd love to see your projects entered into either of those or just shared with us on The East Wind FB group.
